Post and Telecommunications of Kosovo (PTK) has selected US firm Verimatrix to provide content protection technology for its IPTV service, launched at the beginning of this year.

PTK selected the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS) for IPTV to enable the secure delivery of live, on-demand and interactive video services. Slovenian firm BeeSmart provided the end-to-end IPTV platform for PTK, as well as the middleware, while Harmonic provided head-end solutions.

Another Slovenian firm called Smart Com was contracted by PTK to oversee supply and installation of the telco's new IPTV platform.
