Swisscom has launched two new smartphone apps, designed respectively to enable users to access the programming guide of its IPTV service 'Swisscom TV' and schedule recordings, and to access the mobile TV service 'Swisscom TV air'.

Swisscom TV customers can now access the free new Swisscom TV Guide app, available immediately on the Apple App Store and downloaded automatically in the language of the user's iPhone.  They can also use it to browse through the IPTV service's full video-on-demand library, watch trailers and schedule films for later viewing.

The Swiss telco has also launched an app for its mobile TV service Swisscom TV air, available for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone 7 devices.  The mobile TV service also enables customers to watch programming on their PC, and has reached over 100,000 subscribers, offering 50 TV programmes, over 2,000 exclusive football and ice-hockey matches per year and more than 1,000 films, documentaries, family and children's programmes.

Swisscom had reached 358,000 subscribers for its IPTV service 'Swisscom TV' by the end of the third quarter of 2010, almost doubling from one year previously and up 126,000 from the start of the year.
