Orange had reached 5.138mn pay-TV subscribers across the multiple markets in which it operates by the end of 2011, up 25% from one year earlier, with the majority of them being located in France and Poland.
Orange France had reached 4.374mn subscribers for its pay-TV services (delivered via satellite and IPTV) by the end of last year, up 25% year-on-year. The number of French broadband subscribers rose 4.2% year-on-year to reach 9.598mn.
The company increased capital expenditure in its home market slightly (1.7%) to €2.619bn, due to a "significant" increase in investment related to ADSL equipment installed at customer locations as part to its Livebox and TV decoder upgrade programmes.
The number of pay-TV customers in Poland (served by satellite and IPTV services) reached 636,000 at the end of last year, up 17% from December 2010. The number of broadband customers rose modestly (2.6%) to reach 2.346mn.
Total revenues across all operations and markets for 2011 reached €45.277bn, down 1.6% year-on-year, while net income fell nearly 20% to reach €3.895bn.
