Dutch incumbent telco KPN has introduced a live TV app for Android tablets, with a total of 20 live channels on offer.

The app is free for subscribers of its IPTV service 'Interactieve TV', and includes catch-up TV services from the country's main broadcasters (although this particular element has an unexpected extra cost of €5 per month), as well as the ability to browse the EPG and pause live TV.

The company launched its 'Interactieve TV Online' (iTV Online) service for the iPad and laptop users last September, and has already clocked up more than 90,000 customers for the service. KPN is planning to launch a version for iOS and Android smartphones next year.
